This mat is great and grippy so far (I've had it for a few weeks). Perfect for Astanga! But the white stripe detail is only in the photo, not in real life. Why is that? I was looking forward to that aesthetic distinction on my mat. It doesn't interfere with the function, but does subtract from how I thought it would be distinguished from other Jade mats. Seems petty, but there's a reason you have differnt colors: some people like form and function with their mats. IJS.
This is the first durable and truly grippy yoga mat I have owned. I do a lot of hot Power classes and this mat can withstand the grip through all the sweating. It helps me feel more confident when doing various asanas throughout my practice. It does have a bit of a smell at first but after a few clean wipes it's starting to go away.
This mat is not only beautiful but has a great grip. It’s thick and cushioned.
It took some getting used to the firmness of EliteS. I do wish it was lighter but it will hold up longer than the Voyager, I‘m sure. I miss the grip that the Voyager offers….nothing compares but it’s not sustainable to heavy usage and it moves and bunches up when I’m twisting around. It’s great to travel with. Anyway, back to the Elite S…it’s fine. I’m just using a small towel to dry off here and there to support the grip throughout a sweaty class. It’s all good.
I wanted the stickiness for hot yoga with the quality of a Jade mat. The mat does not disappoint. I wish I had more choices of color, but I like the dark green. I haven’t had any issues with scratches or showing dirt or whatever from the floor. Not sure what other folks are doing to generate that problem. I also bought the cleaner that specifically goes with it. The cleaner works well.
